Halvor Noble
On the evening of Sunday, March 29th 2026, much too soon, we welcomed our second son and Ronan’s little brother, Halvor Noble Lines (Hal for short), into the world. Labor began prematurely in the middle of the night, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it from progressing. After a devastating day of waiting, our little baby boy arrived sleeping soundly.
Hal was tiny and precious, with the sweetest little nose and long toes. He was perfect in every way, he just arrived much too soon. We’re so grateful we got time with him in the hospital to hold and snuggle him.
we take comfort in knowing that our boys are together until we get to see them again.
The Name Halvor
The name Halvor actually came to us back in November as we were struggling emotionally with how long things were taking to get pregnant again. We were on the phone together when a semi truck passed by on the highway, and I joked that I might have just found the name of our next child. The truck belonged to a little family trucking business called Halvor Lines, so as soon as we learned we were pregnant again, that’s the nickname we started using to refer to our little one.
Even though it started as a joke, we decided that we should stick with Halvor as his name since that’s all we had ever called him. We’ve since looked up the name’s etymology and are really happy with the meaning behind it. Rooted in the Viking age, Halvor is a masculine Norwegian name meaning guardian or protector and invokes the Norse warrior spirit. We always knew that he would share a middle name with his older brother, because we loved how it bonded them together.
We think Halvor Noble Lines fits him perfectly.
Reaching Out
Hearing Their Names
As painful as it can be to discuss loss, we still love getting the chance to talk about our children and hear their names. We may cry at first, but eventually we want our sons to be nothing but a source of joy, so please feel free to ask us about them when you see us if you’d like.
